For those of you who’ve known me long enough to know that we just went through this a few months ago, my apologies for asking you to change my address in your readers and blogrolls again.

I’ll leave this blog up as I get things moved over and prettied up, and for a while as I make sure folks can find me. But as of today I’m posting at my new/old home again. I hope you’ll come say hi!

This page was all about artsy play, of course–but as I started writing this, I noticed a little something I probably could have planned better…

Yep, guess the sun was so icy that it cast the bead shadows backwards.

I’m linking up to Shadow Shot Sunday over at Hey Harriet–it’s been a while since I participated, and I do believe I’ve missed it!

I felt a little lost without Art Every Day Month yesterday, but enjoyed my day off. Today was all about art again. I really enjoyed doing this page in my art journal, and not just because I got to cut snowflakes!

They’re addicting, aren’t they? I remember making so many of them when I was a little kid. I *think* I also very vaguely remember doing a few at a less-than-lovely job a little more recently…but that’s another story. It was fun working with a wintery color palette, but you see I couldn’t resist adding some bright color, too.

I enjoyed AEDM so much that I’ve signed on to do the Creative Every Day Challenge. While my goal will be to do just that (create every day), I think I’ll only do one or two CED posts per week. I’ll still be around the rest of the week with other things, though, and hope you enjoy it all!

It’s funny. As I told a friend the other day, before AEDM I used to struggle some days with things to blog about. One of the many lessons I learned over the last month is that if you are actively creating, you have plenty to talk about

I think Ms. Muse is tired and off somewhere taking a nap or something. It’s been a busy month for her, you know.

On my own, I turned to my old fall-back, an ATC, and just went with what is in my head today. This has been such an awesome month! Not always easy, but fun and productive and challenging, and so worth it. I’ve learned a lot and met a bunch of truly creative new friends. I’ve also learned that I can be creative in some way every day, and with that in mind I’ve signed on to do Creative Every Day. I hope to see a lot of you there.

I borrowed this idea of doing a mosaic from fellow AEDMer Sandy Coleman –I think it’s fun to see my “snapshot” of the entire month-long challenge. So here, in mostly random order (because you know I had to move all the colors around…), is my month:

What fun. While I’m ready for a little bit of a break, I’m already looking forward to next year. Thanks to everyone who has commented and followed–I enjoyed and appreciate it immensely!

And I’m off to take a nap of my own now…

The one color I had missed this month was green. I also wanted to play with a monochromatic palette–so I used the photo below which I took a few months ago as a reference.

I love flowers, but don’t know enough about them–I want to say zinnia, but I’m not sure…?

So this is an 8″x10″ acrylic on canvas panel. Overall, I really like it–especially the colors (love the pop of red) and texture. I do wish I’d made the flower larger–I think the shape and size make my interpretation look more like a dandelion puff

I couldn’t decide what to do with the squares at first, then remembered I have a small snowflake stencil that’s the perfect size. I bought this brass stencil to use for paper embossing back during the Unfortunate Scrapbooking Incident of 2004. That was also the year that I discovered scrapbooking isn’t my thing and that I much prefer to just glop paint (or gesso, in this case) on using stencils as a guide. Anyway, I’m not sure Plaid® will welcome the mention since I don’t use stencils the way they intend, but it’s cute and that’s who made it if you’re interested.

But no two snowflakes are supposed to be alike, right?
